Passive Alert Systems

Is your loved one living alone and at risk of falling, fainting or or not being physically able to reach out for help? UPPENabout enables you to send assistance from a distance.

If you are the primary or caregiver of someone with dementia or Alzheimer’s, or who is merely forgetful, frail or lives alone, possibly with diabetes or other chronic illness, you know that your first thought on waking is, “Is he/she okay? Were they safe through the night, and have they got out of bed yet?”

UPPENabout Passive Alert Systems were designed by people who have lived through those worrying mornings, when a loved one wasn’t always alert enough or well enough to call or have someone else call them.

This affordable, non-invasive messaging system sends a text message to a designated number when movement is detected.  A simple SMS notification can set your mind at ease until you can visit or speak to them. Importantly, a notification that there has been NO expected movement for a time span of your choice allows you to get assistance to them quickly.

All that’s required is WiFi, a two-pin plug and a drawer, fridge, bedroom door that the user is most likely to open and close regularly during the day. The user does not need to remember to wear a physical device or press a panic button. If injury occurs where a panic button is out of reach, UPPENabout can notify you.

UPPENabout Passive Alert Systems do not take the place of a carer visiting or any regular phone calls, but merely alert the primary caregiver – family member, friend, designated carer – that their person is moving about, or has not moved about for a defined period of time. Notifications may be sent to a medical service or Retirement Village manager for speedy action and peace of mind.
